PHANTOM 111 CHASSIS.
FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH - SECTION 6000.

Please receive herewith the following blueprint :-

C.CD.158 Increased Inertia Flywheel.

The above scheme is generally similar to N.Sch.4998, LOP. G.85261, with the exception of the following main modifications :-

(1). A ring of metal, which is to be fitted on a spigot turned on the outside diameter of the flywheel cover G.85199 has been added to increase the inertia of the flywheel.

(2). The flywheel has been shown lightened by reducing the thickness of the web.

(3). The flywheel cover has been reduced in weight by adding recesses between the bosses for the spring caps.

(4). The pressure ring has been shown bored out for lightness and .025 removed from inner friction face to permit of the Borg & Beck cushioned type friction driven discs being fitted. Recesses have also been added to the pressure ring to reduce the weight.

(5). The operating sleeve G.85205 has been reduced in length and the position of the thrust bearing, in relation to the trunnion ring, modified to enable the standard clutch casings G.84962 and G.85065 to be used.

(6). The standard Borg & Beck cusloned plate and friction linings are to be fitted to the present production hub G.84544, see assembly of clutch G.85600.

(7). The standard production crankshaft E.86615 is to be used.

(8). The trunnion bearing housing G.85213 has been reduced
