Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} YNG 81282 ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/GEA.2/EB. 24.11.33. As you are aware, we have had difficulty in obtaining prompt despatch of Ethyl Fluid, and on taking the matter up with the Ethyl Export Corporation, they write us as follows :- "With reference to the delivery of I-T Aviation "Ethyl Fluid, we quite appreciate the inconvenience caused, "particularly in the case of your order No.405, but it is "very difficult to know what to do in order to improve "present arrangements. As a matter of fact, the writer "had to deliver the last two cases of Fluid personally, in "order that they should arrive without undue delay, "Naturally, while we do not object to doing this, "we cannot always guarantee to bring fluid up to Derby in "private cars. The road transport companies do not seem "to run regularly to Derby and it depends whether they "have enough load, directly consigned to Derby, as to "whether they go or not. Also, due to the particular "nature of Ethyl Fluid, it may not be stored or transported "with foodstuffs, etc. and if one depended upon railway "transport to get the fluid to your Works, we should have "to have a truck especially to carry even one tin of Fluid, "and you will appreciate, that this would prove rather "inconvenient and costly. "In view of the foregoing remarks, we can only "suggest that further deliveries of Fluid should continue "to be transported by road, but in order to avoid delay "we advise that your company should give us 10 to 14 days "notice when ordering supplies of Ethyl Fluid. In other "words, if they always keep a case of Fluid on hand to cover "their needs for this period, we think we can arrange that "further supplies will arrive within the time specified. "We shall be very pleased to consider any other "suggestions you may have on this matter". Will you kindly advise. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
