N° 710/38/I50 I 9 3 9 LE MANS 24 HOURS RACE --------------------------- REGULATIONS Section I GENERAL CONDITIONS Definition Article I.- The Automobile Club de l'Ouest is organising with the co-operation of the paper l'Auto, a series of events which, under the name of : THE LE MANS 24 HOURS RACE I6th. Reliability Grand Prix are to be run according to the Rules of the International Association of Recognised Automobile Clubs, the Rules of the Automobile Club de France and the provisions of the present Regulations. The events are international. They will be run simultaneously over an uninterrupted period of 24 hours on the Sarthe permanent circuit. The events constituting the " Le Mans 24 hours " (I6th. Reliability Grand Prix) are : I.- The I6th. Reliability Grand Prix (IIth. annual distance cup) to which the A.C.O. Cup is allotted and, to the first in each of the ten categories provided in article I5, the A.C.O. grand silver-gilt medal. 2.- The I4th. biennial I938-I939 Rudge-Whitworth Cup : 2nd. race (Final). 3.- The I5th. biennial I938-I939 Rudge-Whitworth Cup : race (Eliminating). 4.- The A.C.O. Cup (2nd. annual performance index Cup). The present regulations, which have been submitted to the approval of the Sports Committee of the A.C.F., are common to all these events. MANAGER OF THE RACE Art. Ib.- The Automobile-Club de l'Ouest has appointed Mr. Charles Faroux as Manager of the Race.
