RE. GOSHAWK II. CROSS STEERING TUBE. X.4263.

This is to confirm that you will experiment with the cross steering tube joint and the front end of the side steering tube joint by carrying the saw cut right into the adjusting screw hole so as to increase the flexibility of the casing enabling the clamping bolt to grip the pad. It is also understood that you are providing a left hand thread for the adjusting screw and are going to try hexagons of the full 1/4 size on the clamping bolt nuts preferably with the castellations not on the hexagon part. It is also understood that you are trying hardened steel ball pads instead of the present bronze.
