We recommend that we should have 20-MY, fit the lower axle ratio and carry out a few acceleration and high speed tests here before returning it to you for your comments.

We note your remarks re weight, but apart from coachwork, demands are being made which inevitably continually increase the chassis weight by small amounts. As an instance increasing the capacity of the petrol tank recently from 20 galls. to 26 galls. has increased the chassis weight by over half a cwt. It seems to us that the difference of 4½ cwt. between the weight of the coachwork on 31-GX and 20-MY suggests a compromise between the two bodies for a car where performance is a primary consideration.
