Messrs. A.C. Sphinx Sparking Plug Co. Ltd.,
DUNSTABLE,
England.

Dear Sirs,

We have lately received reports from our outside depot that misfiring and bad starting is occurring on our cars due to the inability of the plug to keep clean. This is due to the poor quality petrol that one is forced to use.

As the quality of petrol will certainly not be improved under the existing conditions, we shall run into ignition troubles, and we feel that something should be done about it.

Can you supply us with a slightly hotter running plug than the recommended type? We shall be glad to discuss the above with your representative next time he is in Derby.

Yours faithfully,

For and on behalf of
ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
