the other feature of topping up, but it would be very interesting to try our original suggestion of increasing the bell capacity, which would probably be able to reduce the loss in head down to approximately 1 1/2 to 2 gallons, but the volume would of course remain the same, and would require replacing by automatic pumping, unless a pump were used.

High speeds in hot weather are undoubtedly the cause of excessive vaporization, and if you will recollect, the writer had a test of this nature in mind during the latter part of last Autumn, but the weather suddenly became cold, and it was impossible to represent the conditions in England.

The writer will be very pleased to come to Derby some time next week; any time except Tuesday; (Wednesday or Thursday would be convenient); to discuss the behaviour of the gauges in France with your test staff.

With regard to our recent correspondence referring to replacement for K.S.100 A.P. we enclose herewith two copies of this drawing, which may be of service to you, one copy of which we would suggest might possibly go forward with the gauge set when it is sent to India.

We remain, dear Sirs,
Yours faithfully,

H.M. HOBSON, Ltd.,
T.P. Searight
Joint Managing Director.
