Re: American Proposal Sheets 26, 27 & 28. ----------------------------------------- We have now received the above sheets back from R.{Sir Henry Royce}, duly signed. We now await to hear whether the Committee at the Works agree to the alterations proposed. You will note that these alterations will come into force on the 1st prox., and if, therefore, you wish to ask America to refrain from introducing them until you have passed them at the Works, will you please let me know so that we may cable. Mr. Royce has passed Sheets 26 and 28 without comment, but at the root of Sheet No. 27 he has made the following notation:- " We in England file off the ends of the rods and mark "the mit so that any change can be easily seen by an "inspector. Personally I feel the lead seal will soon be "removed and will be of little value, however, I am quite "willing that it should be tried and see if it is beneficial."
