S/W C19/C23.12.20. Re Rapson Tyres. ------- With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/TMW4/LG16.12.20, we are interested to note what you say concerning Rapson tyres. At the moment we are mainly interested in the Rapson tyres on the Prince of Wales' car. We are afraid the objections you raise to them would not be sufficient to get them removed. Mr. Evans informed the writer recently that he had had a Rapson tyre come off, and he appears to be of the opinion that any Rapson tyre is likely to do the same. They have no security bolts, apparently, and it would seem to be a matter of difficulty, if not impossibility, to fit security bolts. Have you had any instances of customers having a tyre come off, and do you look upon this as anything serious? Of course we have got to be very careful about saying there is any possibility of this if the possibility is no greater than with other tyres. C. [STAMPED] O-1 DEC 24 1920 RECEIVED | ||
