2nd February, 1937.

London Trials Car 38-EX.

This car came into Cricklewood this morning to have a new clutch plate fitted. I took the opportunity to examine the rockers and try slow running. The felt pads are doing their job satis- factorily, there is just a weep of oil after hard running, none at slow speed. The exhaust gives off a slight blue smoke when opened up. No plugs have been fouled.

I spoke to Crawford this morning and he says the oil consumption is falling with the use of Mobiloil Artic. He wondered whether it would be possible to revert to Castrol XL or whether you still wished to carry on with the thin oil. Will you please let him know.
