Dear Sirs, We have to acknowledge receipt of your esteemed letter of the 9th.inst., and would state that two of the four clutches mentioned, namely 10.A6 assemblies were despatched to you yesterday per Passenger Train, and the remaining two 10.A3 assemblies we will endeavour to despatch either to-morrow morning, or Monday certain. We trust this will be satisfactory. These assemblies are definitely balanced by the improved method. We would confirm telephone conversation of this afternoon when particulars of 1 1/4" S.A.E. 10-splined shaft and hub limits were given. We attach herewith copy of Data Sheet SK.30129/4 tabulating sizes and limits of shaft and hub S.A.E. sizes from 7/8" to 2" for your records. With reference to the suggested tests of 11" clutches having Green thrust springs, upon second thoughts it would be definitely preferable for you to return clutches to us; we to fit springs and check assemblies for balance, it is quite possible that balance may be interfered with by disassembly.
