To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X4264 Da {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 2/M21.8.22. GOSHAWK STEERING X.4264. In reply to your memo. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1/LG19.8.22, Mr. Royce has not said anything to me about the plain thrusts in the Goshawk steering, but we will make a scheme and get his approval within the next day or so. We sent on Saturday last particulars of the proposed new springs in the side steering tube which are in accordance with Mr. Royce's most recent instructions, but we think that you will have to experiment as the existing loads seem very uncertain and we are not sure that it may not be necessary to make the rating of the spring very much higher.
