86116. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Ms. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ox. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. WST E.2/HP.27.3.34. re Headlamps - Bentley. From a design point of view we do not think we ought to be stampeded into fitting the large and heavy P.100 Lucas headlamps by one or two people who are out for appearance at all costs. The increased weight and windage of these lamps is likely to be a serious disadvantage. The present brackets and fixings may have to be stiffened up as the car has not been type tested except with the present lamps. If it is a question of more light being required we believe the 60 watt bulb would give as good a result in the present lamps as in the P.100. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
