(struck through) RHms. (struck through) RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/GH.4/IB.15.12.36. We understand that Messrs.Newall of Glasgow can supply Steel Bars to our specification, heat treated in 12.ft.lengths. We should be glad if you could look into this, as we are of the opinion that providing the material and the prices were satisfactory we could then machine quite a number of our parts from heat treated bar. At the present time, our material is divided into two classes, i.e., some treated before machining and some treated after machining. In the case of the material which is heat treated before machining, this is to be cut in small lengths, causing a great wastage of material, and those parts which are heat treated after machining require stretching, sand blasting etc. RHC{R.
