35-EX.

We have run into evaporation trouble on this car. The cause is due to the water temperature having been raised by fitting a different thermostat to the radiator. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std. fitted a new one prior to the car leaving Derby; The reason I believe being because of the reports of water temperature being only 75°C. during the last traffic tests. With the new thermostat the temperature is reaching 87°C. With anything above 80°C the pressure built up in the petrol supply pipe between pump and carburetter detects the pump up to 80° there is no trouble. We should like a thermometer to fit in the vee so that we can give the temp.

We have received the brass plugs for the lubrication scheme for the rockers. We are fitting them today. The other scheme with the annulus on one side in the bush is working satisfactory, after soldering up the .015" hole in the end.

The clutch on this car is remaining free from squeaks up to the present.

Brakes.

When driving down here I had several severe diving to the left when the brakes were applied. With lighter pressure used during the tests this feature is not so pronounced.
