X.4073 WITHDRAWING DEVICE FOR PENDULUM STEERING LEVER. --------------------------------- With reference to the suggestion recently made by one of the London testers that we should provide a nut for drawing the pendulum lever off the tapered serrations, we send herewith a print of "N" Scheme 352B shewing the suggested arrangement. The boss of the pendulum lever comes rather close to the frame, and accordingly the nut appears to want to be made rather long, so that its castellation and locking device are beyond the dge of the frame. It appears to be also necessary to reduce the main fastening nut. It is suggested that as this lever has been in use for so long in its present form, and the need for taking it down is very rare, it seems doubtful whether this additional complication is really necessary.
