To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X8230 Hsl/LG19.11.28. PHANTOM - EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. In answer to BY2/G10.7.28. These tests have been delayed owing to several pipes being changed through experimental designs etc. We have now completed 5000 miles with the exhaust pipes treated with aluminium by the scoop method and the condition is very good. We think it advisable with this knowledge, that the exhaust pipes on the 'SS{S. Smith}' should be treated right away with this process. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
