West Bromwich.

Dear Sirs,

We are urgently in need of some helical compression springs to the following particulars -

Outside dia. 1.110-5
Inside dia. 0.535 + 5
Free length to be between 0.800 & 0.825.
Load at a length of 0.575, 450-460 lbs.
Maximum choc-a-bloc length 0.500.
maximum stress not to exceed 100,000 lbs/sq.in.

The above conditions will probably necessitate rectangular section wire, and as we are not very successful at predicting the rate of such springs, we would be glad if you could work out particulars of wire size, etc., for us, and let us have 16 springs as soon as possible.

Our Order Office will send you an official order for these springs very shortly.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
