merits of simplicity and that it is very satisfactory in operation on American cars. There is no danger of earthing the battery during electrical work on the chassis, if the battery is provided with easily detachable terminals so that it can be readily cut off when electrical work is undertaken.

The two-wire system we believe offers a certain security in that an earth on the "power side" of the wiring does no harm if it is not sufficient to blow the grounding fuse, while an earth on the other side of the system does no harm at all except to short circuit the grounding fuse.

We should be glad, however, to have Mr. Royce's comments on this subject, as the question of two-wire versus single wire systems is being constantly asked.
