Bentley Close Centres Cylinder Head.

Attached is a report on the advantage gained from incorporating the information obtained from the single cylinder in the Bentley cylinder head.

The gain at the top speeds is about 5%, which we think is well worth having, particularly as it is accompanied by no increase in detonation.

We have one further modification to make to the head before we have all the recommendations made by Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}, that is, an enlarged inlet port. This is being incorporated on the silent tappet close centres head which R.{Sir Henry Royce} has recently issued.
