To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL. c. to CJ. c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. XC219 XU263 We have put another frame on the bump test and are bumping the front of the chassis. We have had the front axle break. This axle has run for a total of 31 hours. We are sending the fractured part of the axle to Mr. Royce. We suggest that the modifications for the front axle should be treated as very urgent because it will take a considerable time to get the dies altered and new drop forgings for test.
