Messrs. The Autovac Manufacturing Co., Ltd.,
HEATON NORRIS,
STOCKPORT.

Dear Sirs,

Re your letter SR/MHR.{M. H. Rigby} of the 15th inst., we note the results you have obtained which correspond almost exactly to the figures we have been getting. We presume that you can see no objection to the heavier float or to the non-return valve at the end of the suction line.

We should like to see a sample float of weight 139 grammes that you could supply for our standard Autovac. We should also like to see the type of non-return valve that you are using.

We do not think that we can take advantage of the longer stroke, because we require a reserve in our autovac which, as you are aware, is obtained by a stand-pipe. We are also averse at present to increasing the height of the neck of the tank.

The writer will be available at the Works until Tuesday of next week, the 22nd, but after that not until the beginning of November, should you wish to visit the Works.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE, LIMITED.
