To EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} }From R. {Sir Henry Royce} Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. LHS. {Lord Herbert Scott} PN. {Mr Northey} X4617 R8/M4.5.26. PHANTOM ACCUMULATOR. X.8535. X.4617. It is very desirable that our accumulators are fitted in the frame - better place to carry them etc. This has proved difficult in the past, but according to E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} and others, can be overcome if the battery is made up of two 6 volt units, which can easily be purchased. The scheme is thus - Each half can be lifted out. [ 6VaT ] <--> [ 6 VOLT. ] Space equal to cross member. Fit 7-EX up like this because it is not satisfactory at present. X.4618. While Exide and Peto-Radford serve you well don't waste time with others. The Oldham battery put on 7-EX for my use in France does not seem good, and was not a kind action - (vents bad, copper connections corroded, and got rid of acid very quickly).
