Captain Thiselthwaite - 194-GN

PN{Mr Northey}1/WT4.2.32.

With reference to the memo from PN{Mr Northey} which is returned herewith, I have consulted with EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} on this matter as requested.

We shall of course be prepared to take the car in and go over it and see that everything is satisfactory. We do not expect however to make much improvement on its present performance by anything we may do in the nature of tuning up. It is as PN{Mr Northey} says already a very good example.

As presumably the car will have to be standard, the only thing we can suggest is, that the high compression head should be fitted which is now a standard fitting on the Continental Tourer type and left hand chassis.

With regard to PN{Mr Northey}'s query re axle ratio, the axle on this car is standard 11 x 41 and the lowest ratio that can be produced in a hypoid axle.
