DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. WOR{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} ORIGINAL R2/M14.4.28. REC'D AT WW., & DESPATCHED 17. 4. 28. INDIA 3. CENTRAL OILING CONNECTION TO BACK AXLE. x3806 x5350 x840 x5410 N. sch. 2565. - I do not like the coiled tube. Could we not put the oil pressure direct on to this pin (front end of rear spring), then take a connection off the spring eye in the centre. True the pin may be overoiled, but the spare could go into the gaiter. Anyway a good fitting pin ought not to leak much. This oiling scheme will in time become simpler. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
