246th. Battery, R.A. 91, Siddals Road, DERBY. 15th. August, 1937. Messrs. Rolls,Royce Ltd. DERBY. Dear Sirs, Potts, F.{Mr Friese} I am particularly anxious that the above man, who is, I understand, employed by you, should attend a course of Anti-Aircraft instruction, which is to be held at Biggin Hill from the 23rd. August to the 4th. September. You were kind enough to release this man for the fortnight's Annual Training just concluded and I do not wish any further release to prejudice him in any way. At the same time, in view of our approaching conversion to an Anti-Aircraft Battery, it is very necessary that we should have a number of men with a superior knowledge of this new work. I should be very grateful if you could see your way to release Bombardier Potts for the further period indicated. Yours faithfully, [Illegible Signature] Capt R.A.(E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}) Officer Commanding 246th.Battery R.A.(T.A.)
