To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}. x7060 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.9/KW.12.7.34. G.M. Type Automatic Tappets. We understand from the A.E.C. that they adopted this type of tappet some time ago with complete success. The dimensions of the poppet valve in the plunger were similar to those we are using. Regarding this valve the A.E.C. give the following instruction on the Assembly drawing :- "This valve to be tight when tested with an air pressure of 1 1/2 lbs/sq.in. Valve to open under a suction of 1 - 2 lbs/sq.in." Will you please arrange for this test to be made on plungers assembled in our shop. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.Ll.Smith. | ||
