Steering.

(1) Low speed wobbles, due to front wheels being
out of balance, and drop of frictional load
on cross steering tube. 6.

(2) Joggles - Side steering tube frictional
load dropped. 4.

(3) Knocks from side steering tube rear end. 4.

(4) Knocks and slackness in needle bearings of
bottom yoke ( lack of lubrication). 2.

(5) Steering not directional due to side play
in roller of rocker shaft and needle
bearings chipped and inner race damaged. 2.

Clutch.

(1) Shuddering, changed for Long Plate
with Thermoid linings. 9.

(2) Long Plate Thermoid lining grabs after
short mileage. 4.

(3) Long plate shuddering due to worn stud
of stay on gearbox. 1.

(4) Slight binding of clutch splines ( slow
stopping). 1.

(5) Clutch thrust race noisy due to lack of
lubrication. 3.

Recurrent failure of Long Plate Clutch with
Thermoid lining has been dealt with, and
cures will be obtained by reducing the
strength of clutch springs ( memo reference
Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/R.23.3.38.

Clutch thrust race has been dealt with by
Mod. S.CD.496.
