Sidgreaves - MD} X4124 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AJL1/LG3. 5. 29. JACK FOR 40/50 HP. CHASSIS. X4491 Some time ago we asked Messrs. Tangye to submit to us a sample jack suitable for our 40/50 HP. chassis - we were never satisfied with the present Dunlop jack, it was the best that could be obtained at the time. Messrs. Tangyes 1 ton Jack especially produced to suit our requirements, and made on the same lines as the 20 HP. jack they recently produced for us, has now been sent for our approval. The jack is excellently made and fulfils all our requirements as regards minimum height, mechanical lift etc. It is easier to operate than the Dunlop Jack and is a much sounder job altogether. There are no exposed threads, apart from the hand adjustment, to catch the dirt and grit and cause binding up. It is slightly heavier than the Dunlop Jack as below :- TANGYE. Jack 9 lbs. 11 ozs. Handle 3 lbs. 6 ozs. TOTAL : 13 lbs. 1 ozs. DUNLOP. Jack 8 lbs. 2 ozs. Handle 2 lbs. 10 ozs. TOTAL : 10 lbs. 12 ozs. To balance this increase in weight, it provides for 1" more mechanical lift, 1.6" greater hand adjustment, 2.5" greater max. height with .10" smaller min. height dimension than is given by the Dunlop jack. contd :- | ||
