x360 S/W. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} re- Phantom III Trials Cars. I am arranging by the end of this week to get all the information I can and impressions about the tyres on these cars, hoping by that time to have been able to try out the new tyres you are sending us. I am also arranging for 35-EX to leave London for Derby first thing on Monday to be handed over to you for development work. Re 34-EX, we prefer to keep this car for demonstration, as we think that on the whole it will prove more suitable than 35. At the same time we are very anxious about the first speed being out of use, that is to say, we are deliberately preventing it from being used for fear of a repetition of what happened with 33-EX earlier this week. The point now is how soon you can loan us 33-EX in trials car condition and with the best tyres available, while you rectify this defect on 34-EX and make any other minor adjustments that you considered necessary. Of course if 33-EX was a so much better car that you preferred to bring 34-EX up to our higher standard before returning it, and could let us keep 33-EX in the meantime, we would gladly agree to this, but we should like you to know that we prefer 34-EX as a general Demonstration Car while we are confined to one car, and should therefore like it back as soon as possible. No doubt you will let me know what you are able to arrange in this latter respect. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Clul | ||
