18th. December, 1925.

Sir,

Visits to Experimental Establishments.
----------------------------------------

In reply to your letter of the 11th. ultimo, reference 2/17, I am directed to inform you that it is not proposed to extend the number of permanent passes issued to any Firm.

2. In the case of mechanics sent to an Experimental Establishment, it is proposed to adopt the following procedure.

3. The firm should write a letter to the Officer Commanding the Experimental Establishment concerned, giving (1) the mechanics' names and nationalities; (2) the business on which they are to be employed; (3) the number of the Air Ministry letter asking for mechanics to be sent if such a letter exists, if not, the name of the Department (R.D.1., R.D.2., etc) that authorised or desired the visit. Only mechanics of British nationality will be covered by the proposed arrangements. Mechanics from other countries must be in possession of Air Ministry passes in every case.

4. I am to enquire if your Society has any remarks to offer on this proposed procedure before the Department takes steps to give it effect.

I am, Sir,
Your obedient servant,

(signed) C. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Brigstocke.
