Coverley - Production Engineer} 1202 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.27.1.37. DIE CASTINGS. With reference to the attached report Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth 10/AP.27.1.37., our immediate recommendation is that as soon as we have decided on the final form the Wraith bottom half shall take, it should be produced by means of a die casting in Z.3 alloy. This is a Birmingham aluminium die-casting alloy. Unless we hear to the contrary, we shall proceed on these lines. Preliminary testing will be carried out on L.5 No.6 sand castings, a rather weaker combination than that specified above. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
