To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} CHASSIS ROAD SPRINGS. We make the following suggestions in order to:- 1. Reduce collections of obsolete springs. 2. Make the production procedure far less complicated. 3. Simplify the spring drawings. We think the above can be done with no loss of benefit to the customer, by the following alterations - 1. Delete all spring "Piece Numbers", "Lubrication Nos." and "Types", so that the spring is completely specified by its "Drawing No." and "Poundage". 2. The Erection Card to have the ideal poundage with a limit of ± 50 lbs. for spring selection. 3. Springs to be ordered as accurately as possible to the required production poundages. 4. Remove all unnecessary particulars on the drawings and give definite limits where required. Spring Specification At the moment every spring has:- 1. A drawing number. 2. A Piece number. 3. A Lubrication No. 4. Type in pounds. 5. Actual poundage. The particulars which are needed are:- 1. A drawing number. 2. Actual poundage. continued | ||
