CADILLAC MOTOR CAR COMPANY DETROIT, MICHIGAN CADILLAC AND LASALLE MOTOR CARS OFFICE OF THE CHIEF ENGINEER December 11, 1936. Mr. S. Grylls, Rolls-Royce, Limited, Derby, England. Dear Mr. Grylls: In response to your letter of November 10th I have asked our Mr. Arnold to prepare some notes relative to our experience with crankshaft balancers and these I have enclosed. Along with them is a sheet to which they refer and the blue prints listed below: 882714 883180 882438 894087 881947 894086 894030 881943 894088 894110 894090 894089 X-1418628 Although we have not standardized this flywheel on our V-8, we have had several of them on the road during the last year, building up mileage and we have yet had no breakages whatever. In view of this it is still a live subject and it is very likely to be used when time and circumstances seem propitious. We would enjoy an opportunity to visit England but times are again booming here in the automobile industry and the demands of the job keep us confined to our particular bailiwick. With kindest regards, and the season's greetings, I am Sincerely yours, E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Seaholm Chief Engineer EWS:H | ||
