W/S X.3730 c. to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to BJ. c. to Mr. Archer. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/H5.4.22. RE. 7-GOSHAWK-11 - Amateur Car. X.4086 X.3730 Replying to your C6/C4.4.22. I regret that unfortunately we have not had the "best of luck" with this car, which is now on test, but it is still our intention to deliver this chassis to Maythorns' on Thursday, although we cannot promise to get it there before Thursday evening. We will follow the car through the coachbuilders, as we have done with the previous chassis, and it is of course essential that the actual coachwork is followed up by the people responsible for this, as was done on the previous cars. "egarding lamps, tyres and speedomter etc. we will deal with these, as was done on the previous cars and will see that they are supplied. It is part of the coachwork job, however, for the spare wheel carriers to be fixed. Also as regards thelamps, we will send these down with the chassis for fitting by the coachbuilders, except the lamps for the instrument board. Mr. Archer, we hope, will arrive with this chassis at Maythorns on Thursday evening, and we shall be glad if you can arrange for Mr. Oldham or Mr. Spinney to meet him there so as to discuss the position of the body fittings etc. there so that there will be a complete understanding on this matter and thus avoid any delay caused by incompletions in any respect in connection with the complete car. We will wire you more definitely tomorrow morning giving approximately the time the chassis should arrive at Maythorns. E P. | ||
