Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}4/MG12.12.23 RE DISTANCE THERMOMETER With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/T5.12.23. Messrs. Negretti & Zambra submitted a sample Distance Thermometer for trial with a view to securing our business - Mercury filled instead of Ether filled - and there is no objection whatever to our retaining same if desired. Results of tests made by Messrs. Negretti & Zambra on these actual instruments before despatch may be of interest. (Copy attached).# They are now proceeding with the manufacture of sample Ether filled instruments similar to our present standard ex the Cambridge Company, but it will be some little time yet before they can submit these or price for same. The price of the Mercury filled instrument is of course excessive, but the instrument is far more sensitive than is required for our purpose. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} [Signature] # will follow | ||
