Weekly Report.

Reports on the following have been sent in :-

X.793. - 60 HP Peerless Car.
X.2 - Double Rear Brakes.
X.711. - Bumping test of frame with box section front horns.

Frame test by bumping. X.877

The frame fitted with cross member in usual position but with special end fittings bolted to both top and bottom flanges and side of frame, is now running on the humps. The tests have only just commenced, therefore no results can be given.

Plain Thrust Bearing in Steering Column. X.457.

The improved plain thrust bearing with plenty of surface has been fitted to a car but has not been run far. It seems to spoil our nice easy steering and I really do not think there is any benefit in it at all. It seems to me that the friction should be applied at the other end of the steering system, say on the pivot pin, so that any undesirable movement at the road wheel would be checked before passing through any joints.
