CODE A.B.C. 5TH EDITION ALSO AT LYONS, PARIS, DETROIT, TURIN, BERLIN. TELEPHONE MUSEUM 9106·9 T. Salt, Esq., Experimental Dept. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd. DERBY. 20th November 1935 Dear Mr. Salt, I understand that the three strangler valves with the disc valves reversed have been sent and should now be in your possession. The various jets which we discussed together are being made up and will be sent to you within the next few days. I shall be coming up to see you on Friday, bringing with me a section carburetter, which we are loaning you for a week or two. We have ordered from the States the latest pattern EE-3 carburetter as used on the 1935/6 Packard 12-cylinder car. It is possible that this carburetter may have certain modifications and improvements over and above the pattern now on test at your Works, and in this connection we are anxious to take advantage of any improvements which the Stromberg Research Dept. have effected during the last year. This carburetter will probably arrive in about three weeks time. In the meantime we are going ahead in designing a modified throttle body to embody the same fast idle parts as already used on the DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}42. This throttle valve body will be used with the carburetter now on test. A second EE-2 carburetter with modified pump spindle seal and float chamber joint has been sent off to you for test. - 1 - | ||
