(16) Fuel system, B.V. is 18 lbs. heavier of which 6 lbs. is due to the petrol pump (this being included in the Humber engine).

It is difficult to see how much weight could be saved here, and a smaller tank would be most undesirable.

(17) Exhaust system, the B.V. is 25 lbs. heavier.

(18) Chassis Electrical. Instruments.

The B.V. is 24 lbs. heavier, although the battery is 6.5 lbs. lighter, the R.R. system is more elaborate.

The above does not include the electrical units on the engine.

It is difficult to see how weight can be saved without sacrifice of certain advantages or reliability.

(19) Wheels and tyres -3.5 lbs. difference owing to the larger tyres used on B.V.

(20) One shot lubrication system 18.7 lbs. this refinement adds to durability and reliability in addition to convenience.

(21) (22) (23) Radiator, Shell, Bumpers. There is little to comment upon in this group.

(24) (25) Pressed steel dash, Centre Footboard Apron, sundry brackets, etc. These are mainly parts of the body in the case of the Humber, Total 34 lbs.

(26) Damper control and pipes 6.5 lbs. none provided in Humber.

(27) (28) Spare Wheel, Jack and Tools. No comment.

(29) There still remains 124 lbs. not accounted for in the B.V. weight analysis, and at the moment it is not known from which sections this weight is missing.

After adding this 124 lbs. the total weight agrees closely with the actual curb weight.

The Humber analysis adds up almost exactly to the actual curb weight.
