New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I Chassis. Recent long tests of Production Chassis show up two points, which I suggest require your attention:- (1) The water pump drain pipe worked half open on the road, and was very slack and free in operation. I think this is a point for Works inspection, to make sure that the plug is firm on its seating. Could a spring locking device be considered? (2) Carburetter float chamber cap came unscrewed and caused flooding. This has happened on previous occasions on test, and I have recollections of one complaint whilst a car was in customers' hands. I think this is a point for Works inspection. Possibly some locking scheme could be considered? EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
