X4612 Pt. c.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C.Hse. C.Wks. C.LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} C.DY{F R Danby}/IWD. BY6/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 1.6.27. Referring to Pt7/CM.30.5.27. we have referred to our scheme of oil drain mentioned in your memo quoted above. We find that what has happened is that when West WitteringHenry Royce's home town provided a damper to overcome squeaks, they at the same time cut off a turned-over edge to the aluminium cover plate. When the cover plate was turned over, the oil trickled down the plate and dropped clear. We agree that with the modification the present scheme feeds oil to the drum and results in oil being thrown over the body. We have put a scheme in hand to overcome this, which we will issue to the Experimental Dept. The scheme will be applicable to cases of complaint. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
