FIXING OF FRONT SPRINGS TO FRONT AXLE. --------------------------------------- With reference to my recent complaint that the spring clips work loose on test, allowing movement of the front axle, also shearing of the centre spring bolt, we shall be glad to hear whether any action has been taken to overcome this trouble. We are now actually receiving complaints of this from customers. The last case I brought to your notice I believe was on the Experimental car which was being run by R. {Sir Henry Royce} at West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, which I, attended to whilst I was there, and which I also brought to E's attention. We have had to replace the bolt on the front spring on customer's car 27-BW, which we have had to correct free of charge, as customer points out that "the shackle bolts are not properly set up and have to be periodically tightened up, and are inclined to work loose. I send sample bolt herewith to By, from 27-BW. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
