REAR AXLE - RE: MAIN BEARING BEHIND PINION.
----------------------------------------

With reference to the combined thrust and journal bearing behind the Bentley bevel pinion, we can obtain a bearing which will go in the same diameter but for which we make one or two special parts, as it is a little wider overall, the bearing in question having a 20% increased capacity.

It is very important that we should obtain a new bearing at the earliest possible moment. The Ransome & Marles number for the new bearing is S.5595.

I would suggest that we place an order immediately for 400 of these bearings and ask Ransome & Marles to give them to us at the earliest possible moment, if possible delivering them within the 10 weeks which they have already promised.

If we have on order bearings which will carry us beyond that date of the present type, I would suggest that you instruct Ransome & Marles to cut down the present type to just fill the gap before they can begin to deliver the S.5595 with its increased capacity.
