The modifications called for on G.OD.250 necessitate extra machining operations on the bought out Girling components. we have visited Mr. Fraser of New Hudsons and he has agreed not to increase the cost to us when we order the new pieces. Mr. Fraser is anxious to help us in every way possible and is looking into the possibility of a wedge with increased travel. If we find we must have this new wedge unit we should have to talk prices but the probability is that we could have it for little if any increase. The front brakes of Bentley III have been designed too narrow and to get us out of squeaking troubles we may have to use the Girling 4 shoe brake which is now being drawn in the 12" dia. size. The drum would have to be iron. The brake would go onto the present carrier and no external alterations would be necessary. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/A.F.Martindale. | ||
