Re. IGNITION PLUGS FOR AERO ENGINES.

The above feature still appears to be in a very unsatisfactory condition.

We do not yet appear to order any definite stock of plugs, as we are not quite sure which is the most satisfactory type.

All the existing plugs we have in use appear to be more or less unsatisfactory.

I certainly think it is a matter which we should try and settle with all possible speed, as I do not feel at all confident that the engines which we are turning out will be free from trouble with ignition plugs.

We have rather thought up to now that the Lodge Racing type have been all round the most satisfactory, but we now learn from our man in attendance on our engines with the Expeditionary Forces, that they have been very unsatisfactory, and develope into a state of misfiring unless the electrodes are cleaned daily.

We shall be glad if you will write to the Lodge people and point out our complaint, and ask if they can account for this.
