Engineer}7/AP.6.4.37, the quotation from The Hoffmann Manufacturing Co. for steering rollers has now been received. The price is approximately 6/- per chassis less than with Ransome & Marles. We recommend that we should send Hoffmanns an order for 210 rollers and we believe that By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} agrees with this. Will Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} please arrange for the supply of bar S.82 material should Hoffmanns require this from us, and will By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please arrange that we supply the inner races to our F.61468 in the black hardened state. Messrs Hoffmann are already going ahead with the manufacture of 20 Rollers for test and inspection purposes, so that they will require sufficient inner races for these at a very early date.
