X.4075 Extract from RLC/G25.11.21. X.4359.V RE VISIT OF MESSRS. HIVES & HALDENBY TO WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town WITH "GOSHAWK II" - 23rd. November, 1921. X.4075 (27) DYNAMO. The Lucas dynamo at present being tested on the chassis only gives about two amperes at high speed in addition to the ignition current, indicating that the charge tails off too much, and we shall not get sufficient. I suggested we fit C.A.V. which gives the current we require, and make our own equal to this. Do not trouble other firms to make us special machines. X4483 (29) R.R. DYNAMO. With regard to the features on the R.R. dynamo in connection with the terminals, we are now working on these and will send them through about Tuesday. (32) CHASSIS WIRING. For the chassis wiring I think we should use a general system of wires in straight metal tubes screwed, bends only split where necessary. I think that a preliminary scheme might be prepared of this in Derby where it is possible to refer directly to an actual chassis, unless you can let me have a chassis down here very soon, which need not for the purpose of usefulness, be up-to-date in every respect. | ||
