Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}11/JH. 7th July. 1937. 1332 Messrs. Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. Price. Dear Sirs, Replying to your letter of the 6th July, I am sorry we have not yet been able to try the tyres on wet roads, as a matter of fact, rain in Derby seems to be as scarce as snowdrops in summer, and we hav'nt had a wet road for over 2 months. We have heard of cricket matches being stopped up and down the country through rain, but we hav'nt seen any here, we must be fortunate or unfortunate, depends whether one is a gardener or not. Incidentally the Duke of Kent's car has just arrived at the works fitted up with a set of the new pattern of tyre, and I am wondering if it is worth while returning them to you after our tests, as they now seem to have been removed from the secret list. Perhaps you will let me know in your reply. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
