Please urge tests - let me see one of these pumps when they arrive. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

27th October, 1936.

Messrs.Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr.Robotham.

We are sending the three Bentley pumps with silencing washers fitted on to you. The three Rolls pumps will follow as soon as we can get through the parts for them.

We should like these tested as soon as possible, however, and it would be very much better if we could adopt this arrangement simultaneously with the adoption of the zinc base diaphragm. Naturally, a few pumps fitted with these diaphragms will have to go through before you approve the impact washer, but it would simplify matters a lot if we could arrange for the two alterations to be identified by a new symbol on the pumps.

Awaiting your further comments in due course,

Yours faithfully,
for THE S.U. CARBURETTER CO.LTD.,
