INTERMEDIATE OUTPUT DYNAMOS.

In view of the first paragraph of R2/M28.12.29, will you please instruct one dozen machines of the intermediate output type of both the 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. sizes. The differences from standard are contained in the armatures and end brackets only.

In the case of the 40/50 HP. the difference in the end bracket is that resulting from the different position of control brush in relation to main brushes. The exact position of this is not yet finally fixed but the information will very shortly be available for you.

In the case of the 20 HP. the differences will consist in

(1) The utilisation of the 40/50 HP. type of more rigid end bracket for better bearing silence, together with the different position of the control brush in relation to the main brushes. Here again we are not at the moment able to give the finally determined position but the information will be available quite soon.

Three each of the above machines selected at random should be handed to us for trial and to enable us finally to fix the specification of test. The remaining machines should be tested by the Production Dept. to our instructions for test which will be completed in detail very shortly after the receipt of the three machines referred to.

In accordance with R's note it will be our intention to send one of these to London for the Trials car as suggested.
